HISTORY 

  • In 1997, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NARFE and the Federal Employee Education & Assistance Fund (FEEA) to establish a NARFE Scholarship Fund to benefit children and grandchildren of NARFE members.

  • The first NARFE Scholarship Awards were given in 1998. 

  • Currently, 60 $1,000 awards are given each year — six in each NARFE region.


ELIGIBILITY

  • NARFE Scholarships are available to the child, grandchild or great-grandchild of any NARFE member in good standing.

  • Stepchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren may also apply. NARFE sponsor must be living at the time application is made. 

  • All applicants must be high school seniors plan- ning to attend an accredited college full-time in the fall/winter of the award year.

  • Point Average (GPA) on an unweighted 4.0 scale.

  • Home-schooled students are eligible.
